Independent record store culture takes center stage with a full day of vinyl releases, DJ sets and community programming at Sweat Records in Little Haiti. Taking place Saturday, April 18, Record Store Day at Sweat Records celebrates the annual global event honoring independently owned music shops and the artists and audiences that support them. The day-long gathering combines exclusive releases with live music and neighborhood collaboration.
Throughout the day, visitors can browse Record Store Day exclusive vinyl alongside a rotating lineup of activities and performances, including:
- All-day vinyl DJ sets by Moonbeam Mike, Pressure Point, MLE (Other Electricities), DJ Babyface Blitz, Laszlo and Gabberina
- Lunchtime jazz performance by the Diego Melgar Trio at Churchill’s (12–2 p.m.)
- Indie vendors inside Churchill’s
- Food and beverage offerings from Pink Elephant Coffee and Chubby’s
- Complimentary drinks from select partners
- Giveaways and limited-edition merchandise
Attendees may also receive tickets to an official after-party featuring a live performance by Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré.
As part of Record Store Day tradition, exclusive vinyl releases are available in limited quantities, with early arrival recommended.
