REEFLINE Art & Science Dives
This event has passed.
REEFLINE opens Miami Beach’s shoreline as an underwater gallery and living laboratory, inviting visitors to explore the city’s first hybrid reef and sculpture park through guided dives and ocean experiences. This Miami Art Week program offers early-morning excursions led by the REEFLINE team, with opportunities to meet the artists and scientists shaping the project and to encounter Leandro Erlich’s Concrete Coral, a life-size traffic jam reimagined as marine habitat.
Each session provides a different way to access the site just offshore. Guests can depart by the Floating Marine Learning Center dive boat from Miami Beach Marina for snorkeling-only or mixed snorkel and dive charters, or launch directly from 9th Street beach on electric paddleboards co-developed by BMW and SipaBoards for an active, eco-friendly route across the water. All experiences are weather-dependent and follow local safety guidelines.
Running December 2-5 at 9:00 a.m., REEFLINE Art & Science Dives highlight a landmark initiative conceived by Ximena Caminos and master planned by OMA / Shohei Shigematsu. As REEFLINE grows across Miami Beach, it blends public art, marine research and environmental education to cultivate new habitats and expand ocean literacy for residents and visitors alike.
A suggested donation supports REEFLINE’s ongoing science, public art and educational programs.
