Extreme gesture, absurdist humor and tightly controlled movement shape a physical theater work about crisis, repetition and renewal. RESET is presented Friday, August 28, and Saturday, August 29 at the Koubek Center.

Presented by FUNDarte, Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s Away From Home Series and the Koubek Center, the performance features Alfonso Barón, Luciano Cortés and Luciano Rosso in a work that uses the body as its central language. The title draws from the technological idea of restarting an overloaded system, transforming it into a metaphor for personal and collective attempts to begin again.

Through loops of movement, choreographic precision and darkly comic physicality, the performers explore fragility, resilience and the human need to recalibrate after disruption. In contrast to digital systems and artificial intelligence, RESET emphasizes the body’s imperfections, limits and expressive power.

The three artists bring backgrounds in physical theater, dance, clowning, mask work, choreography and international touring. Barón and Rosso are associated with the widely toured physical theater work Un Poyo Rojo, while Cortés, now based in Miami, founded Salvaje Teatro and has performed with companies including La Fura dels Baus and Fuerza Bruta.
