Apr 10, 2026
Starting: 7:30 PM
A documentary exploring the legacy of Cuba’s revolutionary era and its impact on generations of exiles screens at the Koubek Center as part of the 43rd Miami Film Festival. Revolution’s Daughter will be shown Friday, April 10.
Directed by Thaddeus D. Matula, the film centers on Alina Fernández, the daughter of Fidel Castro, using her story as a lens to examine the broader human and political consequences of the Cuban dictatorship. Through interviews with artists, writers and cultural figures including Gloria Estefan, Nilo Cruz and José Bedia, the documentary brings together personal testimonies that reflect on displacement, identity and the search for freedom.
Presented as a world premiere, the screening highlights perspectives from the Cuban exile community while considering the cultural and historical forces that continue to shape Cuban and Cuban American experiences. Selected guests associated with the film are expected to attend.
