Robert Owens

A foundational voice in house music brings a live vocal and DJ performance to ZeyZey Miami. Taking place Friday, July 17, Robert Owens performs on the outdoor Zaku Stage for an 18-and-over late-night set.

Emerging from Chicago’s house scene in the late 1980s, Owens helped shape the genre through collaborations with artists including Frankie Knuckles, Satoshi Tomiie and Larry Heard. His work includes influential tracks such as “Tears,” “Bring Down The Walls,” “I’ll Be Your Friend” and “Mine To Give,” all noted for pairing dancefloor production with emotionally direct vocals.

Across decades, Owens has continued to release music and collaborate with producers across the global house scene, including Masters At Work, Jamie Jones and Ron Trent. His performances often combine DJing with live singing, emphasizing the soulful and communal roots of house music.
