Rumble in the Jungle: Flava D

Bass-heavy club music takes over The Ground, the ground-floor venue at Club Space, for the third anniversary of Rumble in the Jungle. The event takes place Saturday, May 30, with doors at 11 p.m., featuring Flava D, Chef Boyarbeatz, Arina Krondeva, Rumble in the Jungle Crew, Xilla, Roll-e and Megusta. The 18-and-over event does not include access to the Club Space Terrace.

Headliner Flava D, also known as Danielle Gooding, is a British producer and DJ known for moving across grime, bassline, U.K. garage, R&B and drum and bass. After gaining recognition in the U.K. garage and grime scenes, she later expanded into drum and bass, releasing Here & Now, a 15-track debut album on Hospital Records that reflects her broader evolution through U.K. bass music.

The lineup also highlights Miami’s underground bass, jungle and breaks community. Rumble in the Jungle, founded by Miami-based DJs and producers Topher The Alien, DB Cooper and DJ Tamsom, has helped create space for jungle, drum and bass, breaks and U.K. garage in the local scene. Additional performers include Chef Boyarbeatz, known for heavy breaks and U.K.-influenced bass; Florida-based breakbeat artist Arina Krondeva; and Xilla, a Miami-based DJ, writer and cultural worker by way of London whose sets draw from leftfield bass, breaks, garage, techno, dub, hard drum and deconstructed club.
