September at CAMP: Opening Reception

The CAMP Gallery hosts the opening reception for two new exhibitions: Aquí No Pasa Nada by Miami-based painter Hermes Berrio and Fair Play by New York-based artist Katrina Majkut.

Berrio’s work transforms overlooked moments of daily life into scenes of quiet transcendence. Through layered canvases and mixed media, he invites viewers to pause and find wonder in the mundane, elevating ordinary experiences into the sublime.

Majkut’s Fair Play series reimagines the male-dominated world of baseball cards through embroidery. By covering the images of famous athletes and highlighting only their achievements, her work challenges gendered spaces in sports culture and creates new possibilities for representation.

Together, these exhibitions turn attention toward what is often ignored, urging audiences to slow down, reflect and reconsider the value of both possibility and accomplishment.

The opening reception takes place Friday, September 5.
