SFCC Artist Series: Ecology and Environment
May 30, 2026
From: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Artists and curators lead an intimate walkthrough of MOCA North Miami’s South Florida Cultural Consortium exhibition, focusing on works shaped by ecology and place. The SFCC Artist Series: Ecology and Environment tour takes place Saturday, May 30 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. The program offers visitors a closer look at the exhibition through direct conversation with participating artists and co-curators.
Co-curators Kimari Jackson and Laura Novoa will guide the tour with artists Mark Delmont, Luke Jenkins and Amanda Linares. Their works consider Florida’s natural environment through different lenses, from ancestry and stewardship to erosion, consumption and the presence of nature within domestic architecture.
Delmont’s work opens questions around human responsibility to swamp landscapes and their cultural and spiritual significance. Jenkins explores natural systems through carved termite forms, while Linares examines the blurred boundary between built space and botanical life. Together, the tour invites visitors to consider place as an active presence rather than a static backdrop.
