Fundarte presents the Miami premiere of the “Sharing Grandmothers”, a multidisciplinary song cycle performance featuring Miami-based, Haitian-American singer/songwriter, percussionist and dancer Inez Barlatier and Cameroonian artist Lornoar. Combining the musical traditions of Africa and the Caribbean as well as folk tales, percussive rhythms, dance, lullabies and women’s oral traditions, Sharing Grandmothers celebrates the contributions of black women and the shared ancestry between Haiti and Cameroon. This vibrant production is a joint musical collaboration between Barlatier and Lornoar under the direction of Miami-based director Carlos Cabellero.
