Shelley Muzylowki Allen: Color of Everything
Oct 30, 2025
From: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The Lowe Art Museum hosts glass artist Shelley Muzylowski Allen for a lecture on the expressive possibilities of her medium. Color of Everything highlights how Muzylowski Allen’s work investigates our relationship with the natural world through layered techniques, sculptural movement and a nuanced sense of color. She reflects on how glass, at once fragile and strong, can embody transformation, storytelling and psychological depth.
Shelley Muzylowski Allen has worked in glass for more than 30 years, developing a distinctive practice that merges technical mastery with a reverence for the natural world. Her sculptural pieces often depict animals and organic forms, rendered with a painterly approach to color and texture. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is represented in major collections, including the Museum of Glass in Tacoma and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
