Sin Salida
May 22, 2026
Starting: 08:00 PM
An existentialist stage production at the Sandrell Rivers Theater presents a Spanish-language interpretation of Jean-Paul Sartre’s A puerta cerrada. Taking place Friday, May 22, Sin Salida unfolds in a single room where three strangers confront one another in a confined, unchanging environment. The setting becomes a psychological space where identity, perception and accountability are tested through dialogue and interaction.
Originally premiered in 1944, Sartre’s work explores the idea that individuals come to understand themselves through the gaze and judgment of others. In this adaptation, the absence of mirrors and external escape heightens the tension, as the characters are forced to rely on one another for reflection and validation. Their conflicting personalities gradually reveal the nature of their situation and the consequences of their actions.
Performed entirely in Spanish, the production offers a focused, character-driven interpretation of a foundational text in modern theater.
