Skills: The Path to Public Art with Carola Bravo
May 21, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
A practical workshop on navigating public art opportunities offers artists a step-by-step introduction to the application process at Oolite Arts on Miami Beach. Led by artist and architect Carola Bravo, the session focuses on how to approach public art calls with clarity and strategy.
Taking place Thursday, May 21, Skills: The Path to Public Art outlines key components of successful applications, including statements of interest, portfolios, budgets and project timelines. Participants will also explore considerations such as site feasibility, fabrication, maintenance and community engagement, with case studies illustrating how proposals are evaluated by selection committees.
Bravo, a Venezuelan-American artist with more than 25 completed public art projects across Florida and Latin America, brings both creative and consulting experience to the session. Presented as part of Oolite Arts’ Skills series, the workshop is free to attend and designed for artists seeking to expand their practice into the public realm.
