An annual exhibition at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum highlights new work by graduating Master of Fine Arts students from Florida International University. On view from April 25 through May 24, Social Presence presents the culmination of three years of research and studio practice within FIU’s Department of Art + Art History.
This year’s exhibition features Alexandra Berlin, whose interdisciplinary project combines woodcut, video and textile. Her work explores “folklore technologies,” examining how forms rooted in childhood and tradition circulate through contemporary culture, shaping memory and lived experience.
Presented as part of the museum’s ongoing collaboration with FIU, the exhibition offers insight into the ideas and methodologies of emerging artists at a pivotal stage in their development.
