Stiltsville & Key Biscayne Sunset Cruise
Jul 25, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Biscayne Bay history, waterfront landmarks and sunset views shape a narrated boat tour led by historian Dr. Paul S. George. Stiltsville & Key Biscayne Sunset Cruise takes place Saturday, July 25, departing from the Island Queen docks at Bayside Marketplace.
Presented by Museum of Miami, the cruise explores the history of Stiltsville, the cluster of colorful wooden houses built on the flats of Biscayne Bay within Biscayne National Park. Once associated with private clubs, parties and figures from Miami’s midcentury social scene, Stiltsville has been reduced over time to seven remaining structures, now preserved through efforts involving Biscayne National Park and the Stiltsville Trust.
The route offers views of the Cape Florida Lighthouse, Key Biscayne and the City of Miami while Dr. George shares stories about the bay’s people, places and changing landscape. A Miami native, author and former college professor, George has led historic walking, coach and boat tours for more than three decades.
Guests should plan to arrive at Bayside Marketplace between 5:15 and 5:45 p.m. for check-in. The tour may depart any time after 6 p.m., and the boat cannot return for late arrivals. Water and soda are included, with additional light snacks and drinks available for purchase from Island Queen Cruises.
