Children can discover the world of artist Jacob Lawrence through storytelling and hands-on creativity at this special edition of MOCA’s Sunday Stories. Participants will enjoy a read-aloud of Jake Makes a World, a picture book that highlights Lawrence’s life and artistic vision, followed by an art-making activity that invites them to build colorful cityscapes using bold shapes and vibrant colors.
Sunday Stories: Jake Makes a World takes place Sunday, August 3 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA). Held in celebration of National American Artist Month, Sunday Stories is a free, monthly early literacy program designed for children ages 1 to 5.
