Surreal 6th Anniversary

House music, visual art and beachside community programming fill the Green Pavilion during Surreal’s sixth-anniversary celebration. The daytime gathering takes place Saturday, August 8 at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. Built around the platform’s founding message to “be genuine and embrace your community,” the event brings together Miami DJs, artists and creative collectives in an open, barrier-free setting.

The music moves through house, Afro-diasporic rhythms, Latin influences and globally minded electronic sounds. Featured artists include Stereo Cat, an Ecuadorian-born Miami DJ blending house with Latin rhythms and New York electronic influences; Owani, whose sets span high-energy dance, Afro and Yoruba house; and Chicago-born producer Andy Mackboogaloo, who connects Afro-Colombian champeta, West African music and Chicago house.
