SWWIM x Matwaala: Nina Sudhakar + Carolene Kurien

Two poets with distinct voices, Nina Sudhakar and Carolene Kurien, share their work in a collaborative reading that highlights the intersections of South Asian and American literary traditions.

The SWWIM x Matwaala: Nina Sudhakar + Carolene Kurien event takes place Thursday, September 11 at The Betsy Hotel. Part of SWWIM’s 10th anniversary season, the program also marks a decade of Matwaala, a collective dedicated to increasing the visibility of diasporic South Asian poets. Sudhakar, a Chicago-based writer and recent prizewinner, appears alongside Kurien, a South Florida poet whose work has been supported by MacDowell and the Miami Book Fair Emerging Writer Fellowship. Presented in partnership with The Betsy Hotel, SWWIM and Matwaala, with support from the Jorge Perez Family Foundation CreARTE Grant.
