Tattoo Poetry: A Workshop at Easy Peasy

A hands-on workshop blending poetry and tattooing invites participants to translate words into visual form at Easy Peasy. Taking place Tuesday, April 28, Tattoo Poetry is part of the O, Miami Poetry Festival and introduces a tactile approach to writing and artistic expression.
Led by tattoo artist and Easy Peasy founder Julie Frances, the session begins with instruction on safely handling a tattoo machine before participants create short poems on fruit or practice skin. Attendees can write their own work or select from curated Miami-inspired texts, exploring how language can take shape beyond the page.
Designed for beginners, the workshop emphasizes experimentation and accessibility, offering participants a finished piece along with an introduction to tattooing as a creative medium. The program reflects the festival’s focus on interdisciplinary and place-based poetry experiences.
