Teach-In with Nadege Green
May 23, 2026
Starting: 11:30 AM
Black Miami’s layered history is explored through a community teach-in led by public historian and storyteller Nadege Green. Teach-In with Nadege Green takes place Saturday, May 23 at Legion Park. Presented by Frolic Culture as part of Black Miami Weekend, the gathering offers a place-based introduction to the people, neighborhoods and cultural traditions that have shaped Miami.
Green, founder of Black Miami-Dade, will guide participants through stories and archival context that center Black communities often left out of the city’s mainstream narrative. The teach-in is designed as an intimate outdoor program beneath the trees at historic Legion Park, connecting local history with memory, preservation and community reflection.
The program also serves as the kickoff for the Black Miami History Tour, an immersive bus tour departing from Legion Park later that day.
