Build on your coding knowledge and take the next step in game development with a workshop designed for those ready to move beyond the basics. This session offers an interactive introduction to designing custom games while exploring the tools and techniques that power today’s gaming technologies.
Tech Lab: Video Game Design for Advanced Beginners takes place on Sunday, September 7 at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. Recommended for participants who are already familiar with Scratch or other block-based coding platforms, the workshop focuses on applying foundational computer science skills to build an original video game. Along the way, attendees will gain insight into the broader landscape of game development and emerging technologies in the field.
Part of the museum’s quarterly Tech Lab series, this workshop is presented in partnership with Sully Studio/Jackson Academy and includes take-home technology to support continued learning. The series is designed to foster curiosity in STEM through accessible, hands-on experiences that are suitable for older children, teens and families with a shared interest in digital creativity.
