The Art of Tea

A hands-on tea workshop at The Wolfsonian–FIU explores the cultural traditions and techniques behind tea preparation. Taking place Thursday, April 16, The Art of Tea is a guided experience led by JoJo’s Tea founder Michael Ortiz.

Participants are introduced to the origins of tea leaves and the steps involved in traditional brewing, with an emphasis on rhythm, intention and sensory awareness. The session includes a tasting component, allowing attendees to engage directly with the process and materials that shape a tea ceremony.

The workshop is part of the Miami Beach Culture Crawl and follows a free public conversation with Ortiz earlier in the evening. Held within a museum setting on Miami Beach, the program offers a focused, interactive look at tea as both a daily practice and a cultural ritual.
