The Magnetic Fields
Nov 01, 2025 - Nov 02, 2025
Starting: 8:00 PM
Celebrate a landmark indie pop album live on stage as The Magnetic Fields return to perform 69 Love Songs in its entirety over two nights at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Known for their wry lyricism and genre-spanning sound, the band brings this acclaimed work back to life in honor of its 25th anniversary.
Originally released in 1999 on Merge Records, 69 Love Songs is a three-disc album composed and recorded by Stephin Merritt. Hailed as a breakthrough for the band, the album received widespread acclaim from outlets such as Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Pitchfork and The Guardian, and has since become a touchstone in indie music. Each performance will mirror the format of the original early 2000s tour, with one half of the album presented each night in track order.
As part of the Arsht Center’s Live at Knight series, the Magnetic Fields will perform on November 1 and 2 at 8 p.m. Expect a rotating cast of vocalists, intimate arrangements featuring cello, ukulele, guitar and keyboard, and a rare chance to experience a cult classic reimagined for the stage.
