Twilight at Patch: Full Moon Forest Bath
This event has passed.
On Saturday, November 16, Patch of Heaven Sanctuary invites guests to connect with nature during Twilight @ Patch: Full Moon Forest Bath. This evening event allows participants to embrace a mindful journey through the sanctuary’s forest under the glow of the full Beaver Moon - a time of gathering and preparation, according to ancient indigenous wisdom. The evening unfolds in the tranquil seclusion of Patch of Heaven’s lesser-known paths, leading to the Thai Meditation Joglo for a candlelit forest bathing experience.
The evening begins with a grounding meditation to center participants, followed by a guided drum walk through the twilight woods. A visit to the Tree of Life offers a moment of reflection, before guests embark on a sensory-rich forest bath walk, inviting them to slow down and tune into the surrounding sights, sounds and scents. As the journey nears its end, participants will gather for a meditative candlelit session at the Thai Joglo, followed by a contemplative moonlit walk back to the Welcome Center. Throughout the evening, the Cacao Bar Pop-up Cafe will be open, offering snacks and beverages for a nourishing start and close to this reflective experience.
Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, this guided experience is designed to encourage healing and relaxation by reconnecting with nature. Led by Suzanne Jewell, Patch of Heaven’s Chief Experience Officer and certified mindfulness teacher, the session incorporates methods developed to ease anxiety through present-moment awareness exercises. Jewell will introduce practices like Pay Attention With Your Senses (P.A.W.S.), which encourages participants to experience nature through all five senses, enhancing their awareness of sounds, textures and scents in the environment. The event offers an opportunity to explore the sanctuary’s gardens, including the Mindful Pocket Park, Sound Garden and Touch Garden, where guests can reflect by the Tibetan Prayer Wheel or listen to the gentle resonance of chimes.
Tickets are required for this immersive experience, where nature and mindfulness meet under the full moon’s calming light.
