Nov 10, 2021
Starting: 8:00 PM

Commemorate Veterans Day by catching City Theatre’s presentation of WAR WORDS, a skillful piece of documentary theater, extracted from dozens of interviews with veterans that served in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Written by award-winning playwright Michelle Kholos Brooks, the play reflects on the need for civilians to better understand the sacrifice of those who serve by amplifying the insights and experiences of 17 characters who have returned from war to their homes, families, and communities.

City Theatre’s staged reading of WAR WORDS features an ensemble of talented South Florida actors. Special guests will participate in a talkback after the play.

The show, developed with the support of the Atlantic Council and Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, is part of an effort to launch an annual tradition of Veterans Day play readings in theaters around the country.
