Winter Season Exhibition
Nov 19, 2025 - Jan 25, 2026
weekly on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
From: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
An exhibition centered on resilience, justice and the contemplative power of portraiture anchors the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU’s winter season.
Winter Season Exhibition is on view November 19-March 31, presenting work by four artists whose practices explore identity, memory and the devotional dimensions of artmaking. Curated by museum director Susan Gladstone and Jaimie Luria, the show spans photography, painting and mixed media, highlighting how personal and historic narratives intersect.
The exhibition features Elinor Carucci’s photographic series depicting the collars of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Carol Fryd’s vivid abstract portraiture created through analog and digital techniques, and Nancy Engels’ quiet, introspective portraits of women and family members. Also on view are two paintings by Pedro Jermaine that place the 1923 Rosewood massacre in dialogue with the Holocaust, underscoring the persistence and interconnectedness of historical trauma.
An opening reception will be held November 19 from 7 to 9 p.m.
