Best Food at The Youth Fair
- March 02, 2026
Every spring, the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition transforms the University Park fairgrounds, near Westchester, into a neon-lit playground of rides, live entertainment and some of the most exciting fair food in South Florida. This year, the fair will take place from March 12 to April 5, but will be closed March 16 & 17 and 30 & 31.
For many, the best part of the fair isn’t the ferris wheel or the games – it’s the chance to indulge in the best fair food of the season. From deep-fried classics to creative new bites debuting for Youth Fair 2026, here’s what to try when you arrive hungry.

Over-the-Top Savory Creations
This year’s new savory lineup brings bold flavors and serious Miami flair to the Miami Dade County Youth Fair & Exposition.
- The Guajillo Glazed Brisket Tacoton: smoky brisket, cilantro aioli and cotija cheese wrapped inside crisp plantain tortillas, offering a Latin-inspired twist that feels right at home here.
- The Mojo Pork Megaton: tender mojo pork piled onto crispy tostones with pickled onions and garlic aioli for a savory bite packed with local flavor.
- Elote Gone Wild: For something extra indulgent this takes classic street corn and tops it with birria, crushed Doritos and Hot Cheetos for crunch in every bite – a perfect example of good fair food done big.
- The Honey Hustler Tots: crispy tater tots with hot honey chicken and jalapeños for a sweet-heat kick.
- Dorito Loco Chicken on a Stick: proves that everything really is better when served on a stick at the Miami-Dade Youth Fair.
Carnival Classics with a Twist
No guide to the best food at the fair would be complete without playful takes on famous fair food favorites.
- Sushi Corn Dogs: reimagine the traditional corn dog in 3 creative styles, from classic chili and cheese to spicy Tex-Mex and a jalapeño popper version stuffed with cream cheese and bacon.
- The Walking Taco: keeps things nostalgic, layering shredded chicken, pico de gallo and sour cream into a bag of corn chips for a handheld staple that defines food for fair season.
- Pickle Fries: salty crunch, served hot and crispy with ranch for dipping
- Maple Bacon Fried Cheese Curds: add a sweet and savory twist to a beloved fair snack.
These are the kinds of bites that make the youth fair an annual tradition.
Sweet Fair Favorites
Dessert is where this event truly shines, and Youth Fair 2026 delivers with over-the-top indulgence.
- The Strawberry Cheesecake Funnel: a golden funnel cake topped with strawberries and cheesecake bites, giving one of the most famous fair food staples a creamy upgrade.
- The Biscoff Cookie Butter Cheesecake Funnel Cake: layers cream cheese icing and Biscoff crumbles over a warm base.
- The Berry Wild Pop Tart Sundae: vanilla soft serve ice-cream with strawberry sauce and warm Pop-Tart pieces for a nostalgic treat under the carnival lights.

These sweet creations are proof that the best fair food is often the most indulgent.
Florida-Inspired & Unexpected Treats
Part of what makes this fair so memorable is the creativity on display each year – especially when it comes to treats that pay homage to our home state.
- Key Lime Paradise: offers a creamy key lime dessert topped with vanilla and graham cracker crumble, a Florida-forward treat perfect for spring evenings at the Miami-Dade Fairgrounds.
- Fried Frozen Watermelon: this playful creation of frozen watermelon dipped in batter, fried and topped with strawberry sauce is already one of the most talked about new foods at Youth Fair 2026, as surprising as that sounds.
- White Chocolate Dubai Strawberries: Fresh strawberries coated in white chocolate and pistachio cream for a sweet finish that feels both trendy and indulgent.
