Just west of Miami International Airport, Doral is a vibrant city filled with unexpected discoveries. Spend the day exploring art galleries, shopping, live entertainment and a creative dining scene. Here are some of the best things to do in Doral.
CityPlace Doral
CityPlace Doral is a favorite destination for premier shopping, dining and entertainment day and night. At the center of it all is a spectacular show fountain that's perfect to snap a photo. Spend some time browsing trendy boutiques and specialty shops like Ella Boutique and Magnolia. There's also an under-the-sea-themed kids club and daycare called Marina Kids, where kids can play with other children.
In the evening, take your pick from a variety of restaurants and bars, like Kuba Cubana, a restaurant that showcases Cuba’s traditional music and cuisine. Novecento and Tap 42 are always go-to hot spots for weekend brunch.
Miami International Mall
Miami International Mall covers more than a million square feet, and is a great place to shop or spend time between activities. You’ll find a wealth of top brands like Aldo, H&M and Sartori Amici, plus popular department stores. Take a break from shopping at one of nearly 25 dining options to choose from. A favorite is The Knife Parrilla Argentina, which serves a great lunch special featuring a buffet of Argentine-style grilled meats and salads.
The Doral Yard
The Doral Yard is a dining and entertainment space featuring indoor and outdoor zones dubbed The Hub and The Backyard. Inside, explore a mini-food hall, with food vendors specializing in everything from homemade dumplings, dim sum and stir-fry at Yip to authentic Mexican tacos at Tacotomía to customizable poke bowls, poke tacos, nachos and burgers at PokeKai. Save room for halo-shaped churros stacked over ice cream at Santo Dulce, located outside of the food hall.
Plants and trees surround The Backyard entertainment and culinary space. Live music and cultural performances regularly take over the larger stage, featuring a grassy dance floor. You can also catch free outdoor movies on a big screen throughout the year. Food and drinks are available for purchase.
La Uchireña
With Doral boasting the highest concentration of Venezuelans in the area, you’ll find some of the most authentic Venezuelan food in Miami. La Uchireña has been called one of the best spots in Miami for fresh-baked empanadas and arepas. The griddled cornmeal patties are stuffed with gooey cheese and seasoned chicken or beef, and pair perfectly with garlic sauce.
Frank Cachapas
The Frank Cachapas food truck is another favorite, serving thick, sweet and savory corn pancakes usually folded with melted cheese and butter.
City Food Hall Doral
City Food Hall Doral offers more than a dozen local foodie favorites across diverse flavors. Stop by The Bar or The Biergarten for creative cocktails or a cold beer during happy hour Mondays through Fridays from 3pm to 7pm before picking from options like burgers, sushi, pasta or fried chicken.
La Birra Bar
If you love burgers, check out La Birra Bar for award-winning Argentine burgers made with Black Angus beef. Go for the Golden Burger or the Crispy Dubai.
