If you’re heading to the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center at the main entrance to Everglades National Park in Homestead, stop in at Everglades Gator Grill. For authentic Mexican food, Los Potosinos Taqueria is a favorite stop for anyone driving through Homestead en route to the Everglades. Here, you’ll find a spacious covered patio with picnic-style tables decorated in the festive colors of the Mexican flag. Coopertown is one of the first airboat operators you’ll encounter once you’ve entered the Everglades through Tamiami Trail (Southwest 8th Street). You’ll find some unique menu items that are specialties of the Everglades: frog legs, gator tail, catfish filets and other delicacies. This is adventurous eating, but you’ll be surprised at how tasty the food is.

Established by farmer Robert Moehling in 1959, Robert Is Here boasts an amazing selection of tropical fruit, from lychee to Asian guavas, jackfruit, dragon fruit, tamarind and more, all of which can be blended into one of their famous tropical fruit milkshakes. You’ll also find a variety of goods, such as dips, jams and spreads to bring back to your kitchen.
