Big Pink

While many spots on Miami Beach have dress codes, Big Pink sports a casual, come-as-you-are vibe. 

The menu is massive and the quality is high, but portions can be quite large, so sharing is recommended, depending on your group’s appetite. Find all-day breakfast, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches and wraps, pizza, pasta and fries by the bucket, plus comfort food entrees and loaded homemade desserts. Kids will enjoy sipping on milkshakes and floats or spooning into sundaes. 

Lucali 

Some of the best dining in Miami Beach can be found at Lucali, a laid-back, craft-style pizza joint in Sunset Harbour. The menu is straightforward and caters to kids and adults alike. Youngsters can watch as pies come out of the oven before digging into a classic cheese pizza, while grownups can choose toppings like sausage and pepperoni, imported Italian artichokes, portobello mushrooms, ricotta and shallots.

Monty’s Sunset

Monty’s Sunset is a family-friendly waterfront spot overlooking the marina, with a menu that offers something for every age and appetite. Grab a picnic table by the water and share a mountain of peel-and-eat shrimp and crab claws, fried calamari, nachos, sushi, coconut shrimp, baby back ribs and other hearty favorites. 

For younger diners, the kids’ menu includes favorites like chicken tenders, mac and cheese, pasta and kid-size burgers with fries. Everyone will enjoy the marina setting, and the kids can dance to live music at sunset. 

Taquiza

Craving tacos in North Beach? Taquiza is a great stop on the way home from a day in the sun. The bright and casual setting caters to all, and the counter-ordering system and outdoor seating make it easy to settle in with the whole family.

From carnitas and asada to pastor and barbacoa, Taquiza has all the classics (served on corn tortillas, in case anyone is gluten-sensitive). Plus, the heirloom blue corn totopos (hand-pressed tortilla chips) with guacamole are a junior foodie favorite. There are also quesadillas and wings, but make sure to leave room for warm churros with spiced Mexican chocolate and vanilla ice cream for dessert.

If you’ve been taking things fast, this South Beach restaurant is a great place to slow it down. The outdoor seating offers great views and people-watching along famed Ocean Drive. Everyone can fuel up with eggs, pancakes, glazed French toast bites, waffles, avocado toasts and breakfast burritos. Yogurt and granola or an açaí bowl can help you keep it light. 

Joe’s Stone Crab 

A Miami Beach institution, Joe’s Stone Crab has been a family favorite for more than 100 years. It's a popular choice for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and the holiday season.

The signature stone crab is in season from October to May. But rest assured, Joe’s stays open year-round and is also known for its delicious fried chicken and burgers. A meal at Joe’s is never complete without the famous Key lime pie, which is also available via Joe’s Take Away. For a more casual option, Joe’s Take Away offers many of the restaurant’s signature items in a grab-and-go format, perfect for a beach day or picnic.
