The Bass
The Bass is Miami Beach's renowned contemporary art museum. Founded in 1964 by the City of Miami Beach, the museum was established after the donation of a private collection by residents John and Johanna Bass.

Day At The Bass

Experience Various Event Offerings At The Bass:
- Children (6 & under) and Miami Beach Residents enjoy free museum admission. Students & Seniors enjoy $8 admission.
- Culture Crawl - every third Thursday, free admission and extended museum hours from 5 – 9 PM.
- Enjoy current exhibitions Alex Israel x Snapchat and Naama Tsabar: Perimeters, as well as long-term view exhibitions Open Storage: Selections from the Collection and Willfulness of Objects.
- Complimentary admission, plus free trolley service is provided to all participating destinations.
- Family Day at The Bass on the last Sunday of the month from 2 - 4 PM.
- Naama Tsabar: Perimeters on view through April 17th. Perimeters fuses elements from sculpture, music, performance and architecture to transform the museum space itself into a playable instrument.
- Alex Israel x Snapchat on view through May 15. Invited to work with Snap’s advanced augmented reality (AR) team to expand upon his multi-disciplinary practice, Israel has created five AR experiences, each linked to one of his Self-Portrait paintings.

Saturday May 28, 2022:
The Bass Highlights Tour
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Guided tours every Saturday starting at 2 PM
Guests will explore various highlights of the collection, the museum’s architecture and current exhibitions both inside and outside of The Bass through an interactive guided tour. Trained educators who facilitate engaging discussions will provide behind-the-scenes experience of The Bass and activities to further engage your experience with art. This tour is included with cost of museum admission and lasts approximately 45 minutes.

NAAMA TSABAR: PERIMETERS, LIVE

Explore Naama Tsabar: Perimeters and stay for a live performance by the artist!
Working at the intersection of architecture and music, Tsabar shows viewers how sound moves both through and beyond walls and buildings. For Perimeters, Tsabar will fuse elements from sculpture, music, performance and architecture and transforms the museum itself into a playable instrument. Enjoy live performances by the artist today at 2 PM and 4PM.
Performances are included in the price of admission. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis with RSVP. Performance duration is approximately 35 – 45 minutes.

Free Family Day: Steam + Celebration
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Celebrate the STEAM + program during May’s Family Day at The Bass. Enjoy free admission to the museum, plus STEAM driven family activities and an exhibition of work by students that participated in Miami Beach’s STEAM+ program. Schools exhibiting include Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School, Miami North Beach Elementary, Miami Beach Senior High, and Treasure Island Elementary.
About STEAM +
Funded by the City of Miami Beach to bring cultural institutions into the Miami-Dade County public school system, the participating STEAM+ organizations incorporate science, technology, engineering, arts and math into the school curriculum.
