The bright, expansive murals that cover Wynwood have gained the neighborhood worldwide acclaim. But you’ll also find some of the country’s best craft beer hidden in those colorful concrete warehouses, making Wynwood an equally appealing destination for beer lovers. Greater Miami & Miami Beach’s warm weather, big patios and light beer styles combine to create an ideal environment for brewery crawls. If you’re looking to delve into Miami’s craft beer scene, Wynwood is the perfect place to do it. Here are all the spots you’ll want to hit in Wynwood.

Cerveceria La Tropical

Signature Beers: La Original Ambar Lager; Nativo Key Suave IPA

Vibe/Atmosphere: La Tropical is Cuba’s oldest brewery, relocated and reimagined as Cerveceria La Tropical in the heart of Wynwood. Tributes to the island’s glory days, such as brass fixtures and plush tropical furniture, give the place a Havana heyday feel. A boisterous bar crowd and large dinner parties mingle seamlessly both inside and out on the patio, making its brewery social scene one of the tops in Miami.

More Food & Drink Offerings: Cerveceria La Tropical offers a creative menu, with an extensive selection of plates from chef Cindy Hutson. Don’t leave without trying an order of the Cuban Sandwich Empanadas. For heartier appetites, the Certified Angus Beef churrasco steak is a great choice, or opt for the mussels steamed in La Original Ambar Lager.

Dogfish Head Miami

Signature Beers: 60-minute IPA; 90-minute IPA; Soflo Pils

Vibe/Atmosphere: Dogfish Head’s Miami digs are a big departure from their popular spot up north in Delaware, but the brewery embraces the neighborhood perfectly. An indoor-outdoor circular bar allows guests to enjoy suds in either sun or shade, while viewing the eclectic murals covering the interior walls. Massive windows give a glimpse into the brewery, where the maker magic happens.

More Food & Drink Offerings: Dogfish Head’s Miami outpost offers a menu of Caribbean-inspired tapas, perfect for pairing with the brewery’s complex flavors. Try the Not Your Typical Chicken and Rice, with chicken thighs marinated in SeaQuench Ale. The curry beef empanadas are also a perfect beer snack, and the 24th Street Ceviche is always refreshing on a warm day.

J Wakefield Beers
Find out why J. Wakefield's craft beer creations are so popular

J. Wakefield Brewing

Signature Beers: Hops for Teacher IPA; El Jefe Hefeweizen; Miami Madness Berliner Weisse

Vibe/Atmosphere: Home-brewing champion Johnathan Wakefield gained such a large following for his craft beer creations that he opened this full-production facility and taproom in Wynwood. Inside, you’ll find Star Wars murals and an epic assortment of rotating beers with creative names such as Han Shot First Imperial Stout and Richard Persimmons Double New England IPA. J. Wakefield’s front patio is a sunny, picnic table-strewn beer garden where seats can be tough to come by on weekends (so plan to come early).

More Food & Drink Offerings: A rotation of local food trucks are outside – check J. Wakefield’s events page for the schedule.

Veza friends
Kick back with friends in Veza Sur's courtyard

Veza Sur Brewing Co.

Signature Beers: Mangolandia Mango Wheat Ale; Spanglish Latin Lager; South Coast IPA

Vibe/Atmosphere: Veza Sur is all about the pachanga, so the brewery’s big, breezy courtyard often hosts live music and day-long parties. It’s a gathering space as much as a place to drink beer, and even if you’re not up for lounging on the big, comfy couches, you can belly up to the bar in the taproom and try some of Veza Sur’s seasonal creations.

More Food & Drink Offerings: Chi Fa, a Chinese Peruvian street food truck, serves a full menu in the brewery’s courtyard. Guests can pair beer with tuna tataki, lomo saltado, chicken with udon noodles and other inventive offerings.

Location: 55 NW 25th St., Miami

Wynwood Brewing Co Tap
Don't miss Wynwood Brewing Company's taproom

Wynwood Brewing Company

Signature Beers: La Rubia Blonde Ale; Pops Porter; Father Francisco Belgian Golden Ale

Vibe/Atmosphere: Wynwood Brewing Company is an inviting taproom just west of Wynwood’s main action, and it was the first full-service craft brewery in the City of Miami. It offers an intimate space adorned in Miami-themed murals, with big interior windows offering views into the beer production room. Check it out and see how some of the smaller-batch brews are made.

More Food & Drink Offerings: Wynwood Brewing Company doesn’t serve food, though you’ll often find food trucks outside or nearby.
