Miami's Best Dive Bars
- May 12, 2026
Whether you’ve just left work, wrapped a beach day or need a low-key nightcap, dive bars always hit the spot. Greater Miami and Miami Beach might be known for glitz and velvet ropes, but these no-frills bars offer something different: strong drinks, casual crowds and a sense of place that feels distinctly local.
So what is a dive bar? Traditionally, it’s an unpretentious, dimly lit bar with affordable drinks, a loyal group of regulars and little interest in trends. In Miami, that can mean anything from decades-old sports bars to live music venues, gay bars or even rooftop bars. Here’s where to find some of Miami’s best dive bars right now.
Ted’s Hideaway
A Cozy Retreat in South Beach
One of our favorite little bars in Miami, Ted’s Hideaway is a classic low-lit escape in South Beach. Covered in graffiti and full of personality, it delivers exactly what you want from a dive: cold beer, straightforward cocktails and a come-as-you-are crowd.
The menu leans into bar food staples like burgers, wings and nachos, making it easy to settle in for a while. The 2 daily happy hours only add to its appeal, making it one of the more reliable bars in Miami Beach for a laid-back night.
Mac’s Club Deuce
The Legendary 21-Hour Dive Bar
The oldest and easily most well-known bar in South Beach, Mac’s Club Deuce has been around since 1926. Filled with a constant rotation of locals, celebrities and tourists, the smoke-filled, cash-only bar is open 21 hours a day, and its legendary happy hour runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with 2-for-1 drinks.
The iconic neon lights that jazz up the bar were gifts from an infamous Miami Vice wrap party that owner Mac said could be hung for the party as long as he could keep them. Whether you’re controlling the jukebox, playing a round of pool or just chatting it up at the bar, it’s easy to see why this was one of Anthony Bourdain’s favorite bars. It’s a popular spot for industry workers looking for a nightcap after their shifts.
If hunger strikes, pop over to La Sandwicherie across the street and bring your sandwich to your bar stool.
Lost Weekend
Retro Games & Affordable Drinks
It may be easy to miss on the edge of Española Way, but Lost Weekend is a dive bar unlike any other. With a name that alludes to John Lennon’s “Lost Weekend” period in the 1970s, this local spot attracts a unique crowd with its 1980s video games and $3.50 well drinks during happy hour (4 to 8 p.m. daily). Plus, ladies drink for free every Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
A popular place for pool sharks, this dive bar hosts weekly pool tournaments in which winners are granted free bar tabs. Pop next door to its sister bar, Kill Your Idol, for a double-shot dive bar night.
On The Rocks
A No-Frills Dive Bar with Karaoke
The North Beach neighborhood dive bar On The Rocks is a favorite among those who know and value what makes a great dive bar. Open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m., it has inexpensive drinks, lots of TV screens and karaoke on Friday nights. This is a colorful bar with even more colorful characters. Importantly, there is a jukebox, and local bands often play classic rock ‘n’ roll.
Las Rosas
A Gritty Dive Bar With Live Music
After shutting down in 2022, Las Rosas has made a strong return as one of Miami's key dive bars and live music venues. Located near Wynwood, it blends industrial surroundings with a distinctly local crowd. The reopened space features a larger stage and updated layout, but keeps its gritty edge.
Expect local bands, affordable drinks and a mix of rooms that range from high-energy shows to quieter corners for a beer and conversation. Las Rosas is one of those spots where, as the night gets later, the vibes get higher.

Bob’s Your Uncle
Fancy Cocktails & Jell-O Shots
Bob's Your Uncle is Normandy Isles' go-to spot for a laid-back bar where everyone treats you like family. Unlike many dive bars, it has a deliciously creative cocktail menu along with a full bar. Several beers and ciders are also on tap, but the real treat is the daily selection of Jell-O shots.
The bar itself is decorated with photos of famous Bobs throughout history – from De Niro to Saget – and there’s an ample selection of board games to play.

Barracuda Taphouse & Grill
Football & Lots of Beer
In Coconut Grove, just off the main drag, you’ll find Barracuda Taphouse & Grill, a popular spot for college students or those who love reliving their college days, especially during football season. Its walls are covered with beer signs, fishing tools and University of Miami swag.
It’s not uncommon to find people drinking or playing beer pong all day long at Barracuda. In fact, this dive is home to an 8-hour-long happy hour with more than 50 brews starting at just $3 a pop. Plus, the bar food is worth trying.
Hole in the Wall Pub
Killer Wings & PBR
With multiple locations, Hole In The Wall Pub definitely lives up to its name. A hotspot for beer lovers and locals, its chill vibe makes it a popular place to cheer on your favorite football team. Adding to its allure, Hole in the Wall serves up delicious char-grilled garlic chicken wings, tacos and delightfully messy burgers, and the Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap goes for just $1.50 a pint. Check out the $1 tacos every Tuesday from 3 p.m. until close.
Keg South
For In-The-Know Dive Bar Fans
Around since the 1960s, Keg South is a back alleyway dive that’s been a mainstay for Pinecrest locals for decades. The menu features delicious burgers, mouthwatering wings and inexpensive beer, and the bar’s regulars are always up for a conversation. Since Keg South doesn’t have an outdoor sign, you have to be in-the-know to find it. A cozy spot, it has only a few tables and bar stools plus an outdoor patio. With various locations, you're always near a Keg South.
Mike’s at Venetia
A Hidden Gem Nine Stories Up
Hidden on the ninth floor of a residential building not far from Downtown Miami, Mike’s at Venetia feels like a secret you’re glad someone let you in on. This longtime Edgewater favorite combines dive bar charm with one of the more surprising menus in the city. Beyond beer and cocktails, you’ll find pizzas, pastas and even steaks, making it a solid option for both drinks and dinner.
Pool tables, TVs and views of Biscayne Bay make Mike’s an enticing option whether you’re seeking out a unique dive bar or a supremely chill spot to drink beer and watch the game.
Churchill’s Pub
Live Music With A Side of Dive Bar
Churchill’s Pub has long been a cornerstone of Miami’s underground music scene. After closing in 2020, the Little Haiti venue has returned, bringing back its mix of live music, grungy energy and loyal following. Long considered the “CBGB of the South,” Churchill’s is known for hosting emerging bands alongside cult-favorite acts, and continues to serve as a launching pad for local artists.
The indoor-outdoor space retains its signature look of graffiti-and-sticker-covered walls and a no-frills setup, while welcoming a new generation of fans. Drinks are cheap and simple, and the pub grub is surprisingly delicious.
