The food truck sensation changed the way the world does food and Miami is certainly no exception. A modern spin on authentic street food culture, these “meals on wheels” whip up everything from simple burgers and fries, to dim sum, nitrogen-infused ice cream, creative grilled cheese and some of the most traditional Cuban and Latin dishes around. These food trucks are a gourmet alternative to fast food and often act as test kitchens before a chef and their creative team goes brick and mortar.

Miami’s food truck craze has reached maturity with a number of beloved emerging and established food trucks and events throughout the city. While food trucks are constantly on the go by their very nature, they can be relied upon to hit monthly meet-ups around Miami. These are just a handful of the places and events where you can find Miami’s favorite food trucks.

Wynwood’s Second Saturday Art Walk

Likely Miami’s most popular monthly food truck event, Wynwood’s Second Saturday Art Walk becomes a late-night celebration where art, food and drink collide. While local galleries bring in DJs and keep their doors open late, attendees can wind their way through the ever-changing graffiti on Wynwood Walls then head to the food trucks for your choice of delicious cuisine from around the world.

The Wharf Miami

Since opening their doors in November 2017, The Wharf Miami has reshaped the food truck game by providing a permanent place for several of Miami’s best-known trucks. This 30,000-square-foot venue really burst onto the scene when soccer star and fashion icon David Beckham held a World Cup watch party here in 2018. Don’t miss Lung Yai Thai Tapas from Thai Bas Trisransi along with a food truck version of Miami favorite Mojo Donuts and Fried Chicken, because who doesn’t love donuts and fried chicken?

North Beach Bandshell’s Food Truck & Music Fest

The North Beach Bandshell hosts a fun, festive and delicious meet-up on the fourth Thursday of the month with their Food Truck & Music Fest held from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. A slew of popular local food trucks line up along Ocean Terrace for the evening. It’s complete with free entertainment and live music.

Miami Food Truck Events

Miami Food Truck Events organizes three meet-ups with a ton of different options at their events, which draw some of the best trucks the area has to offer. Their events take place at Haulover Park in Miami every Tuesday from 5 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., at Pelican Harbor in North Bay Village every Wednesday from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m., and at Deerwood Bonita Lakes Park in Miami from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. They’re great opportunities to mingle with neighbors, enjoy music from a live DJ and let the kids burn off some energy in a bounce house, all while sampling delectable food truck fare, of course.

Popular Miami Food Trucks

While the food truck lineup at these events rotates from week to week, you can count on strong representation from some of Miami’s most popular food trucks. These are some of our favorites.

Ms. Cheezious

Named by Food Network as one of America’s 26 Best food trucks of 2019, Ms. Cheezious is one of the original Miami food trucks to develop a cult following. They now have two trucks in Miami as well a brick and mortar shop on Biscayne Boulevard. Count on them for creative, crave-worthy grilled cheese creations like the Mackin Melt, Southern Fried Chicken and Waffles, Croqueta Monsieur and BBQ Pulled Pork.

Moty’s Grill

Easy recognizable in their bright blue truck, Moty’s Grill servers up Kosher style Mediterranean food made from simple, fresh, healthy ingredients. Shawarma on fresh pita or falafel for those who prefer to forgo the meat, make the some of the best hand held meals. These Middle Eastern flavors are sure to make your mouth water.

You will be AMAZED with these delicious arepas and cachapas, which are both traditional Venezuelan staples. Filled with an endless variety of stuffing from black beans and cheese to beef, chicken, or pork, Amaize has grown into a chain of restaurants around South Florida but they have kept their food truck and can be found at several of the events above.

Churros are popular the world over, especially in the Spanish speaking world, where theses piping hot sugary pastries are dipped in chocolate sauce and are the perfect sweet treat. Churromania has recently opened a second truck and are adding more brick and mortar stores all the time.
