CityPlace Doral

As one of the area’s newest shopping centers, CityPlace Doral is like a city within a city, and is loaded with trendy shops, restaurants and entertainment spots. You’ll be greeted by dancing fountains, and once you park, you can unwind around the lush walkways as you browse a cluster of boutiques. Since swimsuits are the daily uniform in Miami, Agua Bendita is stocked with vibrant swimwear and cover-ups that are handmade by Colombian artisans. You’ll find the latest fashions at boutiques like Ella Boutique, Seta Apparel and Kiut and jewelry enthusiasts will discover rare, handmade baubles at Tarbay. With all that walking, your feet may need some major pampering, so kickback for a pedicure at Venetian Nail Spa, or a beauty treatment with a drink at Tipsy Salonbar. At night, you’ll find numerous sit-down restaurants to choose from like Tap 42, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, and SuViche to name just a few. And when it comes to entertainment, you can go bowling, see a movie, and also look for activities from group workouts to nights centered around the arts.

The Shops at Downtown Doral

This is another live-work-play destination where you can find locally-owned stores mingling with hot eateries, homes, offices and green spaces. While restaurants outnumber the boutiques at this town center in Downtown Doral, women will find on-trend clothing, handbags and accessories at Cattiva Boutique along with The Store, which was created by two best friends who have a passion for fashion and handpick every item in the store. Sports lovers will be addicted to Skyros Sport, a real-deal sportswear company from Venezuela where they have something for every sport and athlete (even those with aspirations of the Olympics). Little ballerinas will want to twirl through The Ballet Store to pick out something for dance class. It’s a popular area for locals to dine, with favorites like Dragonfly Izakaya & Fish Market, Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar, Avo Taco and more. 8551 NW 53rd Street, Doral, 33166

Also in the Doral area, about a half mile from Miami International Mall, shopaholics who want to score big without breaking the bank can find plenty of deals and steals at the outlet mecca Dolphin Mall. Wear your comfy shoes to wander the maze of more than 240 shops, with many high-low options. It’s not uncommon to see shoppers wheeling around suitcases to store all their purchases. Fashionistas who like the finer things can pop into high-end retailers like Saks Off Fifth, Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus Last Call. Young shoppers will discover popular stores such as Forever 21, Billabong and Hollister. If the kids need a break from shopping, there’s a play area to burn off energy along with the entertainment complex, Dave and Buster’s, two movie theaters and a bowling alley. Refuel at a variety of sit-down restaurants like Brio Tuscan Grille, Cabo Flats, Texas de Brazil and other fast food eateries to grab a quick bite to eat. On certain days and seasons, the mall offers live music or other family-friendly activities like a Halloween party and trick-or-treating around the mall.
