American Red Cross - Executive Director, Greater Miami and The Keys

The American Red Cross is seeking a dynamic and community-focused Executive Director to lead the Greater Miami and The Keys Chapter, serving more than 2.5 million residents across Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

This leadership role is ideal for a strategic relationship-builder who is passionate about humanitarian service, community engagement, nonprofit leadership, and advancing disaster preparedness and recovery efforts throughout South Florida.

About the Role

As the Chapter Executive Director, you will serve as the primary public-facing leader for the American Red Cross in Greater Miami and the Florida Keys. The position focuses heavily on community relations, fundraising, strategic partnerships, volunteer engagement, and nonprofit leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the American Red Cross throughout the community and strengthen public awareness of the organization’s impact
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, elected officials, community leaders, and nonprofit partners
• Lead regional fundraising and philanthropic engagement efforts
• Support volunteer recruitment, leadership development, and community outreach initiatives
• Collaborate with regional leadership to advance chapter goals and disaster response readiness
• Oversee chapter planning and community engagement strategies
• Partner with the Board of Directors to support governance and mission success

Qualifications

• Proven experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, community relations, or executive management
• Strong communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and community initiatives
• Knowledge of the South Florida community and established local connections preferred
• Passion for humanitarian work and community impact
