73rd Street Beach Cleanup

Volunteers can help remove marine debris from the shoreline at 73rd Street Beach in Miami Beach as part of the 41st International Coastal Cleanup. Taking place Saturday, September 19, the cleanup is led by the City of Miami Beach Environment and Sustainability Department and the Miami Beach Bandshell. The effort is part of a countywide program organized by VolunteerCleanup.org and Clean Miami-Dade, with more than 65 cleanup sites planned across Miami-Dade.

Participants will meet at 73rd Street Beach, just north of the Miami Beach Bandshell. Garbage bags, gloves, data collection cards and water refills will be provided, and community service hours are available upon request. Volunteers can also use the Ocean Conservancy’s Clean Swell app to record the types and quantities of debris collected as part of the event’s citizen-science component.

Registration and completion of an online waiver are required. Volunteers should bring water in a reusable bottle and wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear. Parking is available along nearby streets and at the 72nd Street parking lot across from the Miami Beach Bandshell.
