Movement, memory and grief shape an evolving performance by choreographer Jenne-Elise Galluzzi at MIA Curatorial Projects in Little River. Presented Friday, September 25, Acceptance grew out of months of improvisational practice and Galluzzi’s return to movement while sorting through the belongings of her late mother.
The work considers how loss persists through objects, memory and the body, bringing themes of identity, remembrance and acceptance into a choreographic framework. Galluzzi uses movement as both an archive of lived experience and a means of transformation, inviting audiences to reflect on their own relationships to memory and change.
A South Florida native and graduate of the University of South Florida’s BFA program in Dance Performance and Choreography, Galluzzi draws on technical dance training, urban movement styles and collaborative creation. Admission is free.
