Around the Block Beach Cleanup
Sep 17, 2026
From: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
A morning of yoga and hands-on coastal stewardship brings volunteers to the shoreline at 24th Street in Miami Beach in recognition of International Coastal Cleanup Day. The event takes place Thursday, September 17, beginning with a 30-minute yoga session followed by a neighborhood and beach cleanup organized by Clean Miami Beach with 1 Hotel South Beach and Oceanic Global. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, and community service hours are available.
International Coastal Cleanup began in 1986 as an effort to remove debris from beaches and waterways while documenting what volunteers collected, helping researchers and advocates better understand sources of marine litter. The annual initiative has since grown into a worldwide volunteer effort focused on protecting coastal environments.
Cleanup supplies, including gloves, buckets, bags and litter pickers, will be provided. Participants should bring a reusable water bottle for the refill station, and closed-toe shoes are recommended for anyone cleaning near the dunes. The group will meet oceanfront near the lifeguard tower, marked by a turtle flag. RSVP is required.
