Apr 01, 2026 - Oct 02, 2026
Select Days
From: 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Contemporary African art and global football culture intersect in a multidisciplinary exhibition in Miami Gardens.
Art and the Beautiful Game: Africa on the World Stage is on view on select dates through October 2 at the Scott Galvin Community Center. Presented by AfriKin at Maison AfriKin, the museum-scale exhibition brings together more than 50 artists from over 25 African nations and the global diaspora.
Timed to coincide with a major international football tournament in Miami, the exhibition examines how the sport shapes identity, memory and collective imagination across continents. Through painting, sculpture, photography, textile, video and immersive installation, participating artists explore football as choreography, ritual, resistance and aspiration. Large-scale and interactive works invite visitors into environments inspired by stadium energy, neighborhood pitches and the shared rituals of match day.
In addition to the exhibition, select programming includes live DJs, cultural cuisine, match screenings, commentary and community showcases highlighting art, fashion and creative voices from across the diaspora.
AfriKin is a Miami-based nonprofit cultural institution advancing contemporary African and diasporic art through exhibitions, scholarship and cultural production.
