Artist Talk with Leandro Vazquez

Multidisciplinary artist Leandro Vazquez discusses the ideas behind his exhibition Entrelazado Perpetuo / Perpetual Intertwining during an afternoon conversation at Barry University in Miami Shores. Presented Saturday, September 12 by Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator, the program brings Vazquez together with fellow artists, community collaborators and curators to explore themes of shelter, adaptation, migration and home.

Born in Argentina and raised across Argentina, Brazil and the United States, Vazquez works across painting, sculpture and installation. His practice draws on transnational experience and unconventional materials to examine how movement, scarcity and resourcefulness shape both physical environments and a sense of belonging. The exhibition is curated by Rosie Gordon-Wallace with guest curator Tomas Vu and remains on view through October 31.

The artist talk takes place in DVCAI’s exhibition space at Barry University’s Monsignor William Barry Library. Admission is free with advance RSVP required.
