Beyond the Pages: Cinderella (The Sophisticated)

A rare 1926 retelling of Cinderella recasts the familiar fairy tale through a Jazz Age lens and Art Deco-inspired woodcut illustrations. The discussion takes place Friday, August 7 at The Wolfsonian in Miami Beach. Part of the museum’s Beyond the Pages series, the program examines Holland Robinson and Mac Harshberger’s Cinderella (The Sophisticated) in relation to themes represented in The Wolfsonian’s collection and recent exhibitions.

Chief librarian Frank Luca will lead the conversation, exploring how the publication transforms the traditional story through its modern visual style and cultural context. The program is free with advance registration.
