Call Me Dancer
This event has passed.
Unleash your inner dancer and celebrate the power of following your dreams. The Department of Access, Compliance, and Equal Opportunity at FIU is hosting a free event on April 5 that will inspire and entertain.
This afternoon dedicated to dance and cultural exchange kicks off with a free dance workshop at 4:30 pm in GC 316. Afterwards, settle in for a screening of the documentary Call Me Dancer at 5:30 p.m. in GC 140. This inspiring film follows Manish, a talented street dancer from Mumbai who defies cultural expectations and financial limitations to chase his dream of becoming a professional dancer.
Following the film, there will be a Q&A session with Manish himself, offering a unique chance to hear his story firsthand. To cap off the event, a reception will be held at the GC Piano Lounge from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., co-hosted by the Jain Studies Program and the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs.
