Ceaseless Beauty
May 13, 2026
From: 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM
A chamber music program at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church highlights the lyrical and introspective compositions of Slovak-born composer Juraj Kojš. Taking place Wednesday, May 13, Ceaseless Beauty presents a selection of works that reflect Kojš’s background in classical piano alongside his exploration of neo-romantic and post-minimalist styles.
Performed by a quartet of musicians—Scott Flavin (violin), Jody Levitz (viola), Ross Harbaugh (cello) and Jacob Mason (piano)—the concert features pieces drawn from the album Ceaseless Beauty as well as the premiere of a new piano quartet, Stretto. The program draws inspiration from the landscapes and cultural memory of Slovakia, shaping a sound that is both expansive and emotionally direct.
The performance is accompanied by video works by Dimitry Saïd Chamy, incorporating imagery by Mariana Kojšová to create a visual dimension alongside the music.
