Earth Day at Crandon Park
Apr 25, 2026
From: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Hands-on conservation activities invite volunteers to restore coastal habitats and learn about shoreline ecology at Crandon Park Beach. Taking place Saturday, April 25, the Earth Day event focuses on protecting sand dune ecosystems through guided environmental work and educational engagement. Participants will collaborate with Miami-Dade Parks staff on projects designed to support the long-term health of the coastline.
Volunteer activities include planting native vegetation, removing invasive species and collecting microplastics and marine debris. Additional efforts focus on general shoreline cleanup and reducing organic buildup that can impact dune stability. The event also incorporates family-friendly elements, making it accessible to a range of ages while emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship.
Hosted at one of Miami-Dade County’s key coastal parks, the program highlights the role of dunes in protecting inland areas and supporting biodiversity. Pre-registration is required, and participants are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles and wear appropriate outdoor attire. Community service hour certificates are available for eligible volunteers.
