Farm Fresh Patch Project: Dig in the Dirt Volunteer Day

Volunteers can help expand Patch of Heaven Sanctuary’s farm and edible gardens while learning practical planting techniques alongside gardening specialists. The workday takes place Sunday, September 13 at the Homestead sanctuary. Organized in collaboration with the UF Master Gardener program, the project aims to double the site’s current food crops and prepare the gardens for at least two future harvests.

Beverly, Patch of Heaven’s greenhouse coordinator and edible garden specialist, will lead participants through the day’s planting activities. The volunteer project offers a hands-on opportunity to work outdoors, connect with the sanctuary’s team and contribute to produce that will benefit the Patch community in the seasons ahead.
