Fertile Earth Worm Farm Tour, happening Sunday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., offers visitors an opportunity to learn directly from renowned Florida soil expert Dr. Lanette Sobel, affectionately known as "Miami's Queen of Compost." Presented by Miami Climate 365, this Miami Climate Week event takes guests through a leading South Florida composting operation, explaining the intricate processes that turn organic waste into nutrient-rich soil.
Following the educational tour, participants can choose to join a hands-on "Grounding Day" activity in the community garden, working with the farm's premium organic soil. The experience concludes with each visitor receiving a complimentary plant to begin or enhance their own home garden.
