Free Second Saturdays: Colors and Culture of Haiti
May 09, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 03:00 PM
A family-friendly day of art-making and live performance highlights Haitian culture at Pérez Art Museum Miami. Taking place Saturday, May 9, this edition of Free Second Saturdays focuses on the work of South Florida artist Kathia St. Hilaire as part of Haitian Heritage Month.
Guests can participate in an interactive art activity inspired by St. Hilaire’s layered approach and themes of identity and self-exploration, offering insight into her creative process. On the waterfront terrace, performances by Tradisyon Lakou Lakay, a group based at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, showcase Haitian folkloric dance and music rooted in the country’s cultural traditions.
The program also includes a movement-based conditioning session and a dance workshop, alongside opportunities to explore the museum’s galleries and outdoor spaces. Admission is free throughout the day, with art activities scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
