Hook Kids on Fishing
Sep 26, 2026
From: 9:00 AM to Noon
Introduce young anglers to the excitement of fishing and marine conservation at Hook Kids on Fishing, a hands-on educational program presented by Anglers for Conservation. Designed for children ages 5 to 15, the interactive experience is led by professional fishing guides, experienced anglers, and marine scientists who teach the fundamentals of casting, knot tying, fishing safety, catch-and-release techniques, fish habitats, and responsible stewardship of Florida's coastal ecosystems. Families will enjoy a fun morning outdoors filled with fishing instruction, conservation demonstrations, and engaging educational activities that inspire the next generation of ocean stewards. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the family registration includes participation in the program. Fishing equipment is available for participants while supplies last, making it easy for beginners to get started. The event takes place at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on Key Biscayne, one of South Florida's most scenic coastal parks. Surrounded by pristine beaches, Biscayne Bay, and the historic Cape Florida Lighthouse, the park provides the perfect natural setting for families to learn about fishing, conservation, and Florida's diverse marine environment.
