In Our Gallery: Arturo Rodriguez
May 01, 2026
Starting: 7:00 PM
A month-long exhibition opens with a presentation by Cuban American painter Arturo Rodriguez, marking the release of the first comprehensive monograph spanning more than four decades of his work.
In Our Gallery: Arturo Rodriguez takes place Friday, May 1 at Books & Books in Coral Gables. The evening begins with a viewing of selected pieces featured in the publication, followed by a talk with the artist.
Published by Gli Ori in Milan, Arturo Rodriguez documents 47 years of painting, highlighting the evolution of Rodriguez’s psychologically charged figurative style. Born in Cuba in 1956 and raised in the United States, Rodriguez is known for dense compositions and intimate interiors that explore themes of memory, identity and displacement. His work has been exhibited widely and is held in major museum and private collections.
The event is free and open to the public, and the artworks on display will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition.
