Lincoln Road Kids Club: Bristle Bots
This event has passed.
Engage the kiddos with an inspiring STEAM session organized by Moonlighter FabLab at the Sunday, July 30 installment of Lincoln Road Kids Club, a monthly gathering offering interactive activities for children every last Sunday of the month. With the guidance of Moonlighter staff, participants will have hands-on fun with the assembly of a battery-powered circuit that powers a balancing micro bot. Participants will test their designs through play in order to learn about basic engineering, motors, circuits, and the principles of balance.
Here's an overview of what will be learned:
- Improvement of observation skills.
- Applying the scientific method to answer a question.
- How circuits work.
- Iterative design and engineering explorations.
Each child will receive a bagged kit with their own toothbrush head, battery, vibration motor, 2 googly eyes, 2 pipe cleaners, double sided tape and instruction sheet.
This session is ideal for elementary and middle school students.
